Point guard Rajon Rondo was released today by the Chicago Bulls.
Rondo had a tumultuous season in the Windy City; his season started off well, but as the season progressed he struggled to find consistency. Rondo eventually lost his starting job, and was even benched for a total of five games.
At the tail end of last season, Rondo provided a spark for the floundering Bulls, and was one of the catalysts that lead them to a late playoff push; the Bulls took two of the first playoff games in a first round match up against the top seed team in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics. Rondo showed flashes of greatness and was having a great series, until it ended abruptly due to a broken thumb.
